Things to See and Do

Cleggan is the centre for a range of amenities including an excellent restaurant, traditional pubs and local shop as well as other activities including horse riding sea angling golf and boat trips. There is a daily ferry service to the island of Inishbofin which is well worth a visit. Freshly caught sea food and shellfish are locally available. Walkers and cyclists have a vast range of routes to choose from, catering for all enthusiasts from the beginner to the experienced trekker/cyclist.

There are numerous sandy beaches, Kylemore Abbey and the wilds of Connemara National Park all inviting exploration. There are a number of prehistoric grave sites and megalithic tombs in the area.

The bustling market town of Clifden is a mere 10K away. The town hosts a Country Blues Festival and an Arts week in September and is home to the Connemara Pony Show in August.

After a busy day in the fresh air, why not relax in a steamy sauna followed by a Guinness or two in the the local pub.
